How do group lessons get better, faster results? 1) Students who train in groups progress faster than students who train only in private. Why? When students are allowed to take things at their own pace, guess what that pace is going to be? Answer: SLOW! That's because there is no standard to measure themselves against. There's no subconscious pressure that, "Hey, maybe I should practice because I'm going to show up for class and people are going to hear me and see me". 2) Consider this, in 1-on-1 private lessons the entire learning process happens in the sterile environment of total isolation. Therefore, there are no real opportunities for students to interact with other musicians to truly apply what they are learning and to integrate all of their musical skills together. |
